Harvested from English trees, our Elm Cluster combines elegant swirly areas of wood grain with more decorative burr sections which are particularly intricate and densely textural. Lighter areas of the veneer are interspersed with darker demarcations in soft honey shades through to rich browns flecked with black.
Elm is often used in decorative wood turning and for furniture design. Being noted for its resistance to water it is also traditionally used in boat-building. Thanks to this unusual property, prior to metal becoming widely available, many English towns actually had water mains pipes constructed of Elm wood.
