Rosewood Santos Crown
Where: Bolivia and Brazil
Botanical name: Machaerium scleroxcylon
The crown cut of the Santos Rosewood, also known as Pau Ferro or Santos Mahogany, exhibits magnificent cathedral spire shapes with deep rich brown and lustrous black tones within its grain. This traditional wood veneer, native to Bolivia and Brazil, is dense and resilient with a distinctive silky smooth texture that exudes elegance and refinement.
The wood is particularly prized for hand built guitars (an eco-friendly alternative to endangered Brazilian Rosewood), fine furniture and decorative wood turning.
