At Bark & Rock, we use natural wood veneers bonded to FSC certified Birch Plywood. We use wood veneer in all of our timber products and are committed to the promotion of the sustainable use of timber worldwide. The global demand for decorative timber means that using wood veneer is not only economical, it is also an environmentally sound choice. A tree sliced into veneer can yield approximately 400% more useable timber than is obtained from a tree cut into planks. Many of the trees we use may have reached the end of their natural life, such as the Fulbeck figured Crown Walnut. This tree grew at Fulbeck Hall, Grantham, Lincolnshire and was blown down in a storm - the wood veneer we have used from this tree was produced from just a small part of one fallen branch.
